Florida Motorcycle Accident Leads to Death

Posted on Jul 15, 2009

A man was killed early morning of Sunday, July 12, 2009, following a motorcycle accident in Brevard County.  The 52-year-old motorcyclist was fatally injured in a crash on U.S. Highway 1, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the Florida motorcycle accident was arrested on charges of DUI manslaughter, as it is believed that he was intoxicated at the time of the fatal crash.  He was booked into the Brevard County Jail.

Armando Barrial, a Mims resident, was riding his motorcycle at approximately 12:30 AM near Glenn Road, when the front of a 1999 Toyota pickup truck collided into the back of his bike.  The pickup truck was driven by Tommy G. Scarboro, a 34-year-old man from Mims.  Barrial’s motorcycle was forced into the shoulder and Barrial was ejected.  He was not wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.
