

A Mims car accident along Interstate 95 involving one vehicle results in the death of a female passenger and injures to three others. The incident took place at approximately 5:45 PM on Tuesday evening, October 27, 2009 along the busy interstate located near Mims in Brevard County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2006 Ford Focus heading southbound on I-95 rolled across the median and onto the northbound lanes after the driver lost control of the vehicle. Britiani Davis, 21, of Lake City was driving the Ford when the accident occurred.
Rescue workers transported Davis along with two of the three passengers in the car to nearby hospitals where they were treated for injuries. Sammie Worthy, 19 of Sunrise and Davis’ son, Brittin Davis, 1, were both ejected from the vehicle.
The third passenger, Helen Buiey, 60, of Lake City, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the wreck.
The accident caused the temporary closure of the northbound lanes of I-95 while rescue workers treated the victims and while crews removed the debris from the accident.
The Mims accident remains under investigation by local authorities. The cause of the accident is unknown at this point. However, the Florida Highway Patrol has indicated that charges are pending.
