Orlando Car Accident Leaves 5 Injured

Posted on Feb 20, 2010

An Orlando car accident involving a car that slammed into the scene of an earlier crash leaves four pedestrians and an Orange County firefighter injured.  The incident took place at approximately 8:30 AM on Sunday morning, February 14, 2010.

According to public information officer Genevieve Latham, firefighters from Station 37 were responding to an earlier accident involving two vehicles that included a motorcycle. That is when a car veered into the crash scene hitting four pedestrians and an Orange County firefighter.

Engineer Paramedic Chad Lowrey, of Orange County Fire Rescue, was attending to an injured victim from the previous crash when he was struck. Lowrey was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center and was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. His condition is unclear.

Rescue crews transported two of the victims to Health Central Hospital and three other trauma patients to Orlando Regional Medical Center. None of the victims have been identified and their conditions were not made available.

The Orlando auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Police have not released the identity of the driver nor determined as to why the driver veered into the crash scene.

This is an unfortunate accident and our thoughts go out to all the victims that have been affected by it.
