An Orlando Police Department officer was driving south on Grand National Drive just before 4 a.m. last Monday when he struck a Chrysler passenger car on the driver’s side, killing the driver and injuring the passenger.

The passenger and police officer were both taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

OPD and the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating the crash, and at the time of this report by Click Orlando it was unclear who had the right of way, though preliminary reports indicated the police officer did.
