Nine cars were involved in a Palm Coast car accident after a woman attempted to flee the Florida Highway Patrol following a routine traffic stop. The incident took place on Monday, February 13, 2012, in Flagler County.
According to reports, a Jacksonville woman was fleeing from a trooper when she smashed her 2010 Dodge Charger into eight cars stopped at a red light at Palm Coast Parkway and Cypress Point Parkway. She allegedly refused to stop when the officer attempted to pull her over along Interstate 95 at the St. Johns-Flagler line.
The driver has been identified as Jacqueline Luckett, 34, of Jacksonville. Rescue crews transported Ms. Luckett to Halifax Hospital where she was treated for serious injuries sustained in the 9-car pileup.
It was unclear whether anyone else was seriously injured in the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the accident caused almost $30,000 in damage to the other vehicles.
The nine-vehicle Palm Coast car accident remains under investigation by local authorities. It is unclear as to why the woman fled law enforcement or why she was being pulled over.
This is an unfortunate incident, and we wish everyone involved in the accident a speedy recovery during this difficult time.
