Tips for those involved in motorcycle accidents in the Daytona Beach area

Daytona Beach and the surrounding areas has more than its fair share of motorcycles on the roads.  This is true even without the special events like Bike Week and Biketoberfest which attracts hundreds of thousands of bikers each year.  Unfortunately the number of motorcycles on our roads leads to increased motorcycle accidents.  These accidents are often the result of other driver's negligence.  If you are involved in an accident due to the negligence of another driver, following a few helpful tips will assist in pursuing a personal injury case:

-If possible, get the at-fault driver's personal info; address, insurance, license plate;
-Contact local law enforcement and have an accident report filled out;
-Seek medical attention, even if you are not sure you are injured. Many times injuries will manifest themselves at a later date;
-Take pictures of the accident site and property damage, even if you only have a cell phone camera;
-If there are witnesses, obtain information such as names, phone numbers and addresses.

If you or someone you know has been involved in a motorcycle accident and have questions, please contact Johnson & Gilbert, P.A. for free consultation at 1-800-556-8890
