Volusia/Flagler drivers should be cautious of deer on the roadways
It's fall in Florida which means deer mating season. Ormond and Daytona Beach drivers, as well as all drivers in Volusia and Flager county should take extra precaution when driving on our roadways. The odds of an animal strike, especially involving deer, will likely increase over the next month. Animal strikes are more common on two lane roads, but anyone who has travelled on I-4 or I-95 in the early evening has likely seen deer meandering about on the side of the highway.
Animal strikes with your vehicle are generally not covered by insurance unless you have comprehensive coverage. Comprehensive coverage will cover damages to vehicles caused by animal strikes. If you are unsure if you have this type of coverage, contact your insurance agent and inquire. We will also gladly review your insurance policy with you at Johnson & Gilbert, P.A.
