Can I quit my job while receiving workers' compensation?
Voluntarily leaving a place of employment while under workers' compensation would generally only affect your entitlement to temporary lost wage benefits under the workers' compensation system. If a doctor has you on limitations which your employer is attempting to accomodate but you choose to quit, workers' compensation may not pay your lost wages under those circumstances because you are "voluntarily" limiting your income. However, quitting a job under workers' compensation does not affect your right to receive continued medical care. Your medical benefits under workers' compensation trail with you to another job or even another state should your relocate out of the State of Florida.
