How far back can I claim disability?
A: There is no limit on how far back you can allege disability, however, the amount of back benefits awared is limited in claims for Social Security Disability to 1 year prior to your application for benefits. In Supplemental Security Income claims, you are limited to benefits back to the date of application only.
