Car Accident Near Universal Orlando Shows Need for Defensive Driving

One person was killed in a car accident on I-4 near the Universal Orlando Resort and six others were injured.  This fatal Orlando car accident shows the importance of driving defensively while traveling near theme parks.

Driving in a tourist area can pose some dangers.  Drivers may not know where they are going and could be distracted by maps or their GPS systems.  Tourists have been known to abruptly change lanes, which could cause a serious auto accident.  They often do not pay attention to the other vehicles on the road because they are preoccupied with trying to find their destination.

There are some ways to help avoid car crashes near Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld, Disney World and other tourist attractions in Florida.  Always be alert for erratic driving behavior and pedestrians crossing the street.  It is also important to be on the lookout for drunk drivers and stay away from a suspected drunk driver.   A car that is weaving through lanes or driving erratically is a sign that the driver is intoxicated.
