

Last Friday in Nassau County, Pearl Andrew Simmons, aged 77, was driving his Toyota Camry on County Road 108 and failed to stop at a red light at the intersection with U.S.1.
The Toyota came into the path of a Chevrolet Trailblazer and was hit on the driver's side, killing Simmons instantly. The SUV driver, Larry Dean Brooker Jr., of Green Cove Springs had minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt, according to the Highway Patrol.
According to the Jacksonville.com report the crash occurred at 2 a.m. and the reason why Simmons failed to stop is not known at this time.
