A Florida teen faces multiple felony charges following a rollover accident in Bonita Springs that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old.
Fifteen-year-old Karina Campbell is facing charges of DUI manslaughter, DUI, driving without a license, speeding and having an unrestrained passenger.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, on March 28, Campbell was drunk driving and was speeding at more than twice the posted speed limit on Broadway East when she lost control of her car near Sandy Lane.
The 1999 Ford Explorer ended up rolling over onto the shoulder of the road and smashed into some trees, which caused 16-year-old Brandon Hulvey to be ejected from the SUV.
Brandon's father, Greg Hulvey, was quoted as saying, "I hate to see anybody get in trouble, but I lost my son you know? I feel like there ought to be justice. There's nothing like it, losing your son - no comparison."
Greg Hulvey is concerned that Brandon’s friends will not change their behavior. He said that he has overheard the boys bragging about how drunk they have gotten. Greg said that he wished he had his son back.
According to state troopers, Campbell was driving 70 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. Her blood alcohol content was .165, which is more than double the legal limit.
