

A Pascagoula, Mississippi schoolteacher was killed in a morning accident near Jacksonville, FL. Our condolences go out to her family and friends.
The victim was the wife of a Moss Point, MS deputy police chief. She was visiting Florida with her daughter, a spokesman said.
She was a teacher at the Singing River Elementary in Gautier and had been with the school district for 31 years. She was considered a “go-to” person, someone that everybody went to when they needed something. She loved children and they returned the feeling.
Recently the victim had been helping the niece of a lifelong friend navigate her attendance at the elementary school. She was a person all could rely upon.
Friends, colleague and employees of the school district were in shock over this tragic accident, according to the victim’s friend.
Details of the accident were still unavailable to family and friends in the Pascagoula area as of Friday, and the victim’s husband was traveling to Florida to find out just what happened. Funeral arrangements are pending.
