Daytona Beach Bike Week 2011 has second fatality

Daytona Beach is heading into the second weekend of Bike Week 2011.  The weather has been nice and bikers appear to be out in force. Unfortunately, the first fatality of a visiting biker was reported outside of Astor, FL.  The accident did not involve any other motorcycles or vehicles.  This is the second fatality for one of Daytona Beach's biggest annual events.  Earlier in the week a pedestrian was hit and killed by a motorcycle.

Both motorcyclist and pedestrians alike should be cautious when traveling Volusia county roads and highways.  There are many thousands of bikers on the road so pay attention to your surroundings and help avoid serious injuries and accidents.

If you or someone you know is injured, contact Johnson & Gilbert, P.A. for a free consultation at 1-800-556-8890.
