Florida's New Workers' Compensation law

An amended version of Florida's Workers' Compensation law goes into effect today. Florida's Legislature in their infinite wisdom (or more appropriately, lack therof) has seen fit to essentially eliminate insurance company paid attorneys fees for lawyers representing injured workers. This is a big victory for the insurance industry which convinced our politicians that they were in need of further bail out at the expense of Florida's workers. The new law will make it harder for injured workers in Daytona Beach, as well as the entire state, to obtain benefits if they are injured on the job. However, injured workers in our area can rest assured that Johnson & Gilbert will continue to fight to obtain benefits to which you are entitled. If you would like more information on how this new law could affect your workers' compensation claim, or if you would like to discuss your workers' compensation case, please click here
