There have been 2 fatalities during Daytona's Bike Week 2010, neither rider was wearing a helmet

There have been two fatalities during Daytona Beach's Bike Week so far.  Both fatalities involved motorcycle riders without helmets.  Statistics show that failure to wear a helmet significantly increases the chance of serious injury when involved in a motorcycle accident.  Even though Florida does not require all operators of motorcycles to wear helmets, wearing them improves your chances of surviving an accident.  Bike Week is a festive event.
