3-car Baker County crash leaves 5 people injured.

Posted on Feb 16, 2011

Early last Saturday, three cars collided north of Glen St. Mary, on County Road 125 at Odis Yarborough Road. A Chevy Blazer driven by Tony Carl Morgan, aged 29, of Sanderson, drifted out of its lane on a creek bridge and crashed head-on with a 1995 Ford pick-up, driven by David Paul Yale, aged 33, also of Sanderson.

The Blazer driver was critically injured and two passengers, Ventura Rodriguez, 40, of Macclenny, and Kevin Draut, 24, suffered serious injuries. The Ford’s driver and a passenger, Amanda Proffit, 32, of Hilliard, had critical and serious injuries respectively.

All injured victims were taken to Shands Medical Center in Jacksonville according to the Jacksonville.com report. None of them had been wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

A 1999 Dodge Durango traveling behind the Ford could not avoid striking the pick-up. Fortunately, neither the driver, Brenda Louise Wilkerson, aged 27 of Glen St. Mary, nor her two passengers, Cedric Larry, aged 28 of Macclenny, and Jayden Larry, aged 3, were hurt. They had all been wearing their seatbelts.

The attorneys of Johnson & Gilbert extend their warmest sympathy to the injured victims of this accident and wish them all a speedy recovery.

Whatever the cause of this accident may have been, the facts illustrate once again the importance of buckling up, which we never tire of repeating on our published website pages.
