

What happened in Pinellas Park Wednesday night?
Eight Florida bikers got involved in accidents resulting in seven people being injured, six of them bikers. One motorcyclist suffered very serious injuries; the other victims are expected to recover soon, according to a detailed report from TampaBay.com.
In the first 9 p.m. incident, three motorcycles were speeding when one of the riders struck the back of a Lincoln that had just made a U-turn and was riding slowly. The biker was thrown 200 feet and suffered life-threatening injuries. The Lincoln driver suffered minor injuries.
The two other motorcycles were laid down by their riders, one of them sliding 250 feet. They were both seriously injured.
A second crash occurred about an hour later when a car struck metal debris that was thrown into a passing motorcycle. The biker and the car came to a stop as both vehicles were disabled. Troopers arrived to investigate the incident. This is when three motorcyclists drove by, one of them slowing down to look at the scene and another hitting him in the back. A third motorcyclist arriving at high speed tried to stop, hit the second one and was thrown off his bike.
Three of the six motorcyclists involved in the crashes wore helmets.
