A 49-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an Orlando accident after he collided with an SUV that crossed the road in front of him.
The motorcycle crash took place near Interstate 4 on Lee Road. According to Florida Highway Patrol, Michael Theriault, an Orlando resident, was driving eastbound on his 1982 Suzuki motorcycle in the center lane, when a 2007 Cadillac Escalade driven by 67-year-old Calvin Lang of Orlando pulled out of the Comfort Inn on 830 Lee Road.
Lang attempted to cross the center lane. Theriault tried to avoid the collision by slowing down and swerving left. However, the right side of Theriault’s motorcycle hit the left side of the Escalade, causing his bike to go over the concrete median and land in the westbound lanes of Lee Road.
Theriault was hit by a westbound 2007 Toyota Yaris driven by 39-year-old Joseph Grenon of Deltona. At the time of the collision, Theriault was not wearing his helmet.
There are charges pending in connection with the deadly accident.
