Orlando Car Accident Injures Shaquille O’Neal’s Wife

The wife of Shaquille O’Neal was injured in an Orlando car accident on Tuesday, July 21, 2009.  Shaquille O’Neal is a former Orlando Magic and Miami Heat center.

Thirty-four-year-old Shanie O’Neal, was riding in a 2007 Precision Limo Services Town Car when her vehicle was rear ended by a 2003 Toyota Camry on Apopka-Vineland Road.  She was injured in the crash along with another passenger, 20-year-old Ashley Johnson.  Both accident victims were taken to Dr. P. Phillips Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

David Wasserman, the 18-year-old driver of the Camry, was cited for careless driving, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Shaunie posted on Twitter.com that she was “good…just super sore.”  She went on to say that her husband has ordered her to rest until she recovers from her injuries.

Shaquille’s career began in 1992 and he was the No. 1 draft with the Orlando Magic.  He later played eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.
