

A Volusia County car accident leaves a pedestrian dead after the man was struck while crossing a busy interstate. The incident took place at a approximately 10:00 PM on Sunday evening, March 7, 2010, along Interstate 4 near mile marker 123.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a local man was crossing Interstate 4 from the outside shoulder to the inside divided median when he was struck by a 2005 GMC pickup truck. The victim has been identified at William Adams, 63, of Orlando.
Rescue crews transported Adams to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. He was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as Joshua Tolbert, 24, of Dacula, Georgia. Nichole Tolbert, 22, also from Georgia, was in the truck at the time of the accident. Neither of them were hurt in the incident.
It was unclear as to why Adams was crossing the interstate; however, police located a broken down car near the accident scene. It has not been determined if that car belonged to Adams.
The fatal Volusia County pedestrian accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
