A New Smyrna Beach motorcycle accident leaves one woman dead after she is thrown from a bike that she was on the back of. The incident took place at approximately 4:30 PM on Sunday afternoon, February 28, 2010, near South Atlantic and 5th Avenue.

According to reports, the unidentified woman was riding on the back of a motorcycle when the incident occurred. The force of the impact caused her to be thrown from the bike where she died from injuries sustained in the accident.

Another accident involving a motorcycle occurred in Oak Hill along U.S. 1. According to troopers, a vehicle pulled out of a local restaurant and into the path of a group of motorcyclists, who were traveling northbound on U.S. 1.

According to reports, one of the motorcycles rear-ended the vehicle causing a second motorcyclist to slam into the first bike.

Rescue crews airlifted one of the bikers to Halifax Regional Medical Center where they were treated for injuries resulting from the Oak Hill motorcycle accident. The victim was listed in critical condition. The second motorcyclist was taken to Bert Fish Medical Center. The biker’s condition was not made available.

Byrne was not injured in the accident.
