According to reports, the driver of a 2006 Ford Mustang lost control of his vehicle in the rain near Jarosz Street and slid across the grass median where he was T-boned by a westbound pickup truck. The driver of the Mustang, Nathaniel Columbie, 22, of Palm Coast, was taken to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach where he was treated for critical injuries.
Rescue crews transported Mr. Columbie’s passenger, Jessica Laliberte, 21, of Palatka, to the hospital where she was treated for serious injuries. The driver of the pick-up truck, Preston Hagens, 18, also of Palm Coast, was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler. He suffered serious injuries as well.
The two-vehicle Flagler Beach car accident remains under investigation by local authorities. Police have yet to determine what caused Mr. Columbie to lose control of his vehicle.
