Amantadine is a drug normally used to treat Parkinson’s disease. A new study suggests that the drug may speed up the recovery process in those who have suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in a Daytona Beach car accident.

The study was conducted by Joseph Giacino, director of rehabilitation neuropsychology at Boston’s Spaulding Rehabilitation Center. He concludes, “These findings will improve awareness, improve the quality of care and access to care.”
